The sun slowly rises on a chilly morning day. The birds chirp a little from the trees near by, the glow from the rising sun glimmers off the freshly fallen snow that had fell over night, and a slight breeze that rustles the leafless trees that tower the nearby streets. The city is slowly waking up as the sounds of the traffic roars off the buildings causing an echo heard for blocks. Jordan is seen wearing a dark green parka and a black toque. He’s just for the weather as it’s been above temperature for the past week, that took a sharp drop overnight. The thoughts rumble through the mind, as he tries to calm it. It’s been a rough past couple weeks, but he’s been fighting strong. Trying to stay in the present, and keep moving strong for a positive life but that’s never too easy with the baggage of the past. It burdens him daily but he tries to wear a smile and change the outlook. Jordan finds a bench near a parks entrance, wipes the snow off and takes a seat. Just looks up to the sky, it’s starting to change to the light blue hue, little white clouds scattered across. He opens up a pack off smokes and ignites the lighter to cause the flame to flicker up. Jordan inhales a little as the end turns lights up as a cherry, as smoke leaves the mouth.
Jordan: I’ve been thinking too much of the past in the last month or so. I stayed at home to gather my thoughts so I can come back stronger. The last time I was nearby the ring, I ended up losing my title to an up and comer. She came out and had the greater will to win, while I slipped away and suffered my first loss within the company. The first loss I endured in around a year of fighting, but that’s obviously what’s not been on my mind. There’s the past of hurt that keeps me down, like a chain and ball around my ankles, all the what ifs and doubts that I ever had, all the mistakes and the pain. The tears and the blood, everything just adds up you see. So my silence isn’t from the past match, but the past decade of piling up. I try and keep my head above water but every once in a while I need to take a step back and get a different outlook on life. The past may have been a burden on the present mind, but the days going to come where everything clear headed and moving to a brighter future. Though recently I’ve been getting almost like this feeling, almost like a six sense that in the upcoming battle, something is going to happen to me. Something that has happened to me in the past, just a funny feeling I have but something I can’t shake. I can’t tell if it’s a positive vibe or a negative but at the show something big is going to happen to me.
Jordan takes another puff then ashes the smoke. The wind picks up and scatters the ashes around. Jordan looks around then straight down at his spread out feet.
Jordan: In my last match I faced two strong competitors that had just as much heart that I have. They were strong mentally and the match could have been won by any three of us, only the strongest survived and that was Sam Black. I must say that was an impressive outing and a well deserved win, but myself and Raven Trueblood did not make that any easier on you. We all battled hard, but I had one mental slip up that cost me the match. It was a minor mistake that turned into a critical turn to the worst. It is a mistake that I learned from, and will better myself for the future matches I have.
Jordan finishes his smoke then stomps it out. He gets back to his feet and starts wandering into the park, hands in his pockets and looking straight ahead.
Jordan: The showing I had in the previous match got me to the journey I’m heading to now. I battled hard and despite the loss I’m on a trial to prove that I can continue to move up to become the star of the show. That battle I had, gave me an opportunity to fight my way to become the number one contender for the Adrenaline championship. It’s a two step challenge but focusing on one match at a time. This championship my acquaintance Justin Justice held for a while before Raven Storm dethroned him. So I plan to meet with Raven at the upcoming pay per view but like I said first things first, I take on Ike Travers first.
Jordan stops his strides, and glances around at the firs that are dusted with a little snow to make it a great sight, the sun is slowly creeping up even more. The traffic sounds have dimmed down, as the birds chirps are a little louder.
Jordan: The competitor I meet in the ring, I am not going to lie but I have not seen him in action before. That doesn’t mean that I have an advantage, nor does that mean that he has the advantage. It just means that I have to expect the unexpected. It also means that anything can and most likely happen while we do battle. He’s a fellow Canadian, but that doesn’t mean I will take it easy on him. I have my focus for the match and if I can avoid a costly mistake like the last battle I have I could have a great chance of walking out as the winner and facing the victor from the other match. You see, I’ve had experience with tournament style battles some where I could me out just short of winning but others I’ve stood up tall as the winner, they are gruesome sometimes but it takes the will to win, and the heart to succeed when it gets tough. Now the only question is Ike, do you have the heart to thrive under pressure? Or will you come crushing down as dust. I’ve spent my whole career shooting for the stars, I’m built for these moments. Are you? I guess we will find out soon won’t we? I wish you the best, but we will see who’s ready to take the leap of faith. See you soon, and once again I wish you all the best in our battle.
Just a slight confident grin slides across the face. His eyes are determined be focussed on the challenge that lays ahead of him. He fades out into the woods as the camera fades out
